Stage Curtains
Hello everyone! I am a graduating senior at Georgia Gwinnett College who has recently entered the world of technical theatre and filmmaking. I am adept in both the film industry as well as the theatre industry and can't wait to discover more of my passions! I am an adaptable and hard working individual that will help any business thrive. Hiring me will add a brand new level of creativity and integrity to any studio or theatre!

As previously stated, I am a graduating senior over at Georgia Gwinnett College. I am proud to announce that I will be graduating in the spring of 2026 with a Bachelor's in film. I will also be graduating with a brand new minor in theatre as well. Throughout my education, I have been tasked with creating various short films that will be displayed in this portfolio.

My education has not been limited to the classroom however. I have also branched out to various theatre companies as well where I have provided extensive work within the field of technical theatre. Through Atlanta's Weird Sisters Theatre Project as well as Contemporary Classics, I got to provide work in the field of stage management. These connections have also provided me the opportunity to work with the Aurora Theatre where I have gotten educated in the art of sound and light. I also got the wonderful opportunity to intern with the Grizzly Digital Network on campus, where I got to record live footage for baseball, softball, and tennis broadcasting for thousands to see!

My Capstone Project

1

Experience

Working on this short film has brought me into a new level of professionalism. Not only was my grade at stake this time around, but I also got the opportunity to try for the campus film festival as well. The spring semester of 2026 gave me the chance to show off all of the skills I've learned throughout my time as a film student at Georgia Gwinnett College. I got to mix the genres of fantasy and drama to create a heartfelt coming of age story that can resonate with both high school graduates and college graduates. This story also allowed me to get back in touch with some great inspirational materials that helped guide me through the filming process, further solidifying my love for filmmaking.

Challenges

This process did not come without its handful of challenges. I was challenged to add a variety of more creative shots that not only enhanced the experience, but also added depth to the meaning behind each shot. I also was pushed to be more organized than I have been on previous projects such as having a neat production binder, marking my script accurately, and keeping all my files labeled and backed up. I was also faced with hiring crew despite previous stubborn filming attempts, which helped the filming process become much more smooth and efficient.

Successes

I really can't talk about this film without highlighting my monumental successes. I got an earlier head start on this project versus my usual procrastinations, which really helped me prepare for not only the capstone due date but also the film festival submission deadline. I am proud to say that my film was chosen out of 12 other finalists to be screened and judged at the 2026 VAPA Film Festival at Georgia Gwinnett College. There were a total of about 35 submissions submitted to the festival and was tremendously honored to have had this experience. The film received much praise and many positive reactions during its live screening. Although it did not place in the top three at the festival, Kings Graduate remains my strongest short film to date.
